Class Vision

Unleash your inner artist and learn the joys of creating something with your own hands. Through using and making handmade things, I believe that we can relearn the relationship between beauty, craft, and genuine worth. The value of time spent with friends in one of my classes, and the intentionality put into making something with your own two hands, goes far beyond the sticker price of a product. When you have put your time, effort, and attention into creating something beautiful, it gives you new eyes to see. With that mentality you can be an artist: you can bring something of beauty into the world that is uniquely you.

If you are looking to hone your pottery skills or dive into ceramics for the first time, I am opening my studio up to individual instruction this fall. For beginners, I will start instruction with pinch pots and coil pots, intermediate students may want to learn about slab building and working with the extruder, while advanced students may want simple instruction with the bulk of their time left for practice throwing on the wheel. $250 for three 1.5hr sessions. All three sessions must be completed within one month of your first class date, ideally 5- 10 days apart.

Sensory Play

Get your hands dirty with a fun and interactive recycling based sensory experience! Join your child (ages 1-6) as we hammer out dry clay, add in water, and watch and feel as hard lumps of clay are transformed into smooth silky slip that will eventually dry out and become useable clay once again. Learn a little about clay and let your child's mind expand with the experience of new textures, sights and sounds. Adult participation required so dress to get dirty! $25 per child, minimum 4 children per class, maximum 6 children
